Five years in the dunes.
Oman's friendliest off-road community - founded in 2021, still run by the same group that started it.
WOW started with three Jeeps and a WhatsApp group. Five years later we're 250+ members strong, with 120+ drives logged across every corner of Oman - Wahiba, Bidiyah, the Sharqiyah wadis, the Salalah khareef, the Empty Quarter.
The job we set ourselves is simple: keep off-roading in Oman accessible. New drivers should be able to learn from experienced ones without ego, gatekeeping, or expensive courses. Convoys should be well led, well briefed, and well swept. Nobody gets left behind.
What we stand for
Every drive has a brief, a Warrior, and a sweep. No-one starts a section alone. Recovery gear is in every WOW vehicle.
If you're new, you get the briefing twice. Co-Leads coach lines, tyre pressures and recovery. There are no stupid questions.
What we pack in, we pack out. Every drive ends with a clean campsite, no fires on dunes, and a respect for the land we drive on.
No gatekeeping, no flexing. The convoy goes at the pace of the slowest vehicle. Warriors don't shame anyone for getting stuck.
The road so far
Three Jeeps, a WhatsApp group, and a Saturday morning Bidiyah run.
Warrior-led skills weekend - recovery, navigation, dunes. The blueprint for our annual training event.
Eight-day khareef season run from Muscat to Salalah and back. WOW's first multi-day convoy.
Three-day deep-desert trip. First formal Warrior nominations. The convoy started running itself.
Over 120 drives logged. Co-Lead structure formalised. WOW DB live, sponsors on board, store launched.
WOW gets a proper home on the web - events, gallery, levels, member dashboards, Co-Lead portal.
"Off-road in Oman is too good to keep to a closed group. WOW is what happens when you take the gatekeeping out and put a Warrior in the back of every convoy."
